Privacy policy

Mute Feed is a Chrome extension that scores and filters posts on LinkedIn. This policy explains what it handles and where that data goes.

Local processing

By default, Mute Feed processes visible LinkedIn post text, author details, hashtags, and media metadata locally. Your professional profile, preferences, feedback, aggregate statistics, and cached scores live in Chrome extension storage.

Mute Feed has no advertising, analytics, tracking pixels, or remote executable code.

Interactive web preview

The web preview uses fictional feed activity and saves changes in this website's local storage. It does not read your LinkedIn feed, connect to an account, or send scoring requests. Model key entry is disabled in the preview.

Optional cloud sync

If you create an account, Supabase authenticates you and stores your profile, preferences, feedback signals, per-post overrides, and up to 30 days of aggregate statistics. Row-level access controls restrict each record to its user.

Model keys, cached post text, and scoring responses are never included in cloud sync. Authentication tokens remain in Chrome extension storage so your session can persist.

Hush

When Hush is enabled, selected post text and your profile summary are sent to Mute Feed at mutefeed.lol so it can return a numeric score and labels. The scoring key never ships in the extension. Ads are scored on-device. You can turn Hush off and stay on local heuristics.

Optional extra providers

If you connect a different scoring provider, Mute Feed sends selected post text and metadata to the host you configure. If you separately enable Vision, it may send up to two post images. That provider's own terms and privacy policy apply.

Retention and control

Local data remains until you remove the extension or choose Delete local data. Synced data remains until you choose Delete account. Settings also lets you export your non-secret data.
